These are very compact stars with radii around 10&#8211;14 km and masses 1.4&#8211;2 of that of the Sun. As NS cools down its inner part (core) forms a quantum condensate with superfluid neutrons and superconducting protons.  My research group based at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom is particularly fascinated with neutron stars extreme magnetic fields reaching 10<sup>15<\/sup> Gauss.  We seek to answer the following fundamental questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How these enormous magnetic fields are formed?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are magnetic fields anchored in the crust or core?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the NS core a superconductor?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How this core superconductor interacts with magnetic fields?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neutron stars (NSs) are remnants of supernovae, first discovered as radio pulsars.
